Your birth matters to you.
You want to feel empowered. You’re hoping for an unmedicated birth, but you’re also quietly thinking:
Where do I even start?
You want to advocate for yourself and avoid pressure or unnecessary interventions—yet it feels impossible to set boundaries while you’re focused on bringing your baby into the world.
And now you're wondering...
-
How can I feel more prepared?
-
How can my partner feel prepared?
-
How do I make this a reality?
-
What options do I actually have?
You want your birth to
happen with you, not to you.
You want to be at the helm, clear in your choices and surrounded by people who respect them.
You want support that helps you steer, even when the intensity of birth makes everything feel a little overwhelming.
What would it be like?
To actually feel prepared for birth and grounded in the boundaries, conversations, and self-awareness that parenthood will ask of you, not just for labor, but for the many decisions that parenthood will ask of you?
To have someone who respects your choices, protects your safety, and helps you steer your birth with confidence, while also strengthening the skills you’ll carry into the rest of your life?

Hi, i'm cheyenne
It’s hard to pinpoint the beginning of my obsession with birth because I honestly think I was born with it.
But I didn’t really feel confident that birthwork was a path I could even pursue. I worked all kinds of jobs but even while working those jobs, I spent my free time learning about birth and pregnancy, trying to absorb everything I could.
Then one day, it all clicked. I didn’t want to do this anymore. I didn’t want to show up to work already feeling drained and burnt out. I needed to shift into something I was innately passionate about, something that actually aligned with who I was and the way my brain naturally works.
I didn’t fully understand the depth of advocacy, informed consent, or the reality of birth trauma until I stepped into this work. Once I did, everything in me knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Once I began doing this work, everything became clear. I finally understood the kind of doula I wanted to be and the kind of support people deserve.
I want you to feel confident speaking for yourself and to have the space to find what you truly want. My role isn’t to take over. My role is to help you find your voice, strengthen it, and echo it when you need support.
I’m here to make sure what matters to you is communicated clearly and consistently to your birth team. And when you need hands-on support or grounding comfort, I’ll be right there with you.
If you are Captain Kirk and your partner is Spock, let me be your Scotty, your chief engineer, quietly working behind the scenes so the whole ship runs smoothly.

Sarah is a first-time parent who wants an unmedicated birth but feels overwhelmed by all the information online. Her partner is supportive but unsure how to actually help in the moment.
In our virtual sessions, we walk through her hopes, fears, boundaries, and questions in a calm, structured way. I help her understand her options, build a birth plan that reflects her values, and practice simple communication tools that help her express what she needs, clearly and confidently. We talk through the flow of labor, how to identify pressure when it shows up, and how to keep her voice at the center of decisions. Her partner learns how to offer support that feels grounding instead of stressful.
When labor begins, Sarah messages me with updates. I help her determine when to head to the hospital, what positions might help, how to stay calm, and how to advocate for her preferences. Her partner feels steady and involved, not lost.
outcome
Sarah walks into birth feeling prepared, informed, and connected, and even though I’m not there in person, she feels supported the entire way.

Jasmine wants a supported, unmedicated birth but isn’t sure how her provider will respond to her preferences. Her partner is excited but tends to freeze in high-pressure situations. During our prenatal sessions, we sort through her fears, what she wants, and how she wants to feel during birth. We create a clear, grounded birth plan and practice communication tools that help her express boundaries early and effectively.
When labor begins, I join them at home, helping her settle into a rhythm. I start dimming lights, offering counter-pressure, guiding positions, helping her breathe through intensity, and supporting her partner so he can stay regulated and truly present. At the hospital or birth space, I make sure her preferences are communicated clearly to her care team. I’m there to offer hands-on comfort, encourage movement, help her stay grounded, and keep her focused on her inner voice.
After birth, I support them during the first hours and check in during postpartum to make sure feeding, recovery, and emotional shifts are supported.
outcome
Jasmine feels empowered, connected to her partner, and proud of how she advocated for herself. Their birth feels like something they truly led — not something that happened to them.

Taylor and Eric are preparing for their second baby. Their first birth felt overwhelming, pressured, and rushed, and they know they want something different this time.
Through four extended prenatal sessions, we use Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques to explore what worked, what didn’t, what they fear, and what they hope for. We unpack patterns in communication, support them in naming what they need, and create a shared plan that helps them move through birth as a team. We work through partner dynamics in a gentle, nonjudgmental way. Eric learns what kind of support helps instead of harms. Taylor learns how to voice her needs clearly and confidently. Together, they practice tools for grounding, boundaries, and rhythm.
When labor begins, I join them when they're ready. I support them regulate emotions, breathe together, and navigate each stage as a connected unit. I’m there with hands-on comfort, position guidance, communication support, and emotional steadiness. During the birth, they feel present, aligned, and in control. Nothing surprises them. Nothing is rushed. They move through intensity with a calm confidence, trusting in the process and their preparation.
outcome
Not only do they have the birth they hoped for, they also walk into parenthood with stronger communication, trust, and awareness than ever before.
Alexa
I wasn’t sure Virtual Support would be enough, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. Cheyenne helped me build a birth plan that actually reflected me, walked me through how to talk to my doctor, and checked in during labor with grounding, practical suggestions. I never felt alone, even from a distance.
Emily
The Handwoven Birth Experience was exactly what I didn’t know I needed as a first-time mom. The extra prenatals gave us space to sort through my fears, name what I really wanted, and practice the kind of communication that would actually hold up in labor. Cheyenne helped both of us feel grounded and prepared, so that when birth began, I felt pretty steady instead of overwhelmed. Even when things intensified, I still felt in control of my choices. I look back on my birth feeling proud, supported, and truly seen.
Callie
As first-time parents, The Signature Birth Support package was worth every penny. Cheyenne helped me understand my options and helped my partner feel confident in how to support me. During labor, she stepped in with different comfort measures right when I needed them, held back to allow me private time with my husband, and helped us advocate for ourselves with clarity. We left the birth feeling proud, connected, and supported in a way that would be priceless to me.
What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP?
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a set of practical tools that connects your thoughts, your language, and your stress response. In birth, it helps you stay grounded, communicate clearly, and feel more in control when things get intense.
Even if you have never heard the term NLP, you have probably used NLP concepts before. For example, noticing how certain words calm you down or ramp you up, how tone changes a conversation, or how one thought can shift your whole body’s response.
As an NLP protégé, I bring NLP-informed tools into the Handwoven Birth Experience in a grounded, birth-centered way. I’m currently training through courses taught by Roxanna Maurer-McEwan of MentorBirth, and I will continue my education as I work toward deeper practitioner-level skills.
How will it help me during birth?
Calm that you can access on purpose
We build grounding cues you can return to during contractions when things feel intense.
Language that supports you (instead of spirals you)
We shift fear-based inner scripts into steadier, supportive thoughts you can use in the moment.
Clear Advocacy
We practice what to say and how to say it, so you can speak up without shutting down.
Partner Teamwork
We help your partner support you in a way that feels regulating, safe, and truly helpful.
Benefits of hiring
me as your doula
Hiring a doula means having someone in your corner who supports your emotional, physical, and mental well-being throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My role is to help you feel informed, grounded, and confident while also helping you communicate clearly with your care team. With steady guidance, comfort measures, and advocacy support, you’re more likely to have a positive birth experience and a smoother transition into parenthood.
Hover over each box below to learn more about how a doula could positively affect your birthing experience.
well-rounded
support
With a doula present during birth, well-rounded support is provided through continuous emotional and physical assistance, as well as advocacy for the birthing person's preferences, ensuring a holistic and empowering experience throughout labor and delivery. Their comprehensive support fosters confidence and security, contributing to a positive birth outcome.
better communication
With a doula present at birth, there is better communication between the birthing person and healthcare providers, as the doula acts as a liaison, conveying and ensuring understanding of the birthing person's preferences. This continuous support and advocacy contribute to a more positive birth experience through open dialogue and mutual understanding.
fewer
negative experiences
A doula's presence at birth can reduce the likelihood of a traumatic experience by offering continuous support and advocating for the birthing person's preferences. Doulas also play a role in the healing process for those who have experienced birth trauma, providing ongoing support and guidance to navigate their feelings and experiences postpartum.
less anxiety
& Depression
Having a doula at birth can prevent or lessen anxiety and depression by offering continuous emotional support, boosting the birthing person's confidence and security throughout labor. Additionally, doulas provide valuable guidance and resources for coping with postpartum emotions, reducing the risk of anxiety and depression in the postpartum period.
fewer medical interventions
Doula support at birth can result in fewer medical interventions by empowering the birthing person to make informed decisions and providing comfort measures to manage pain and promote relaxation, potentially reducing the need for interventions such as epidurals or cesarean sections.
Shorter time
in labor
The presence of a doula at birth can shorten labor by providing physical comfort measures and emotional support, which can help the birthing person relax and progress more efficiently. Additionally, doulas offer guidance on optimal labor positions and techniques that can facilitate the birthing process and reduce the duration of labor.
lower healthcare costs
Hiring a doula can lower healthcare costs by potentially reducing the need for medical interventions, like epidurals or C-sections, which are often associated with additional expenses. Doulas can also help prevent complications and promote smoother births, resulting in shorter hospital stays and fewer postpartum complications, further contributing to cost savings.
tailored birth planning
A doula can help you create and follow a birth plan by providing personalized guidance and support tailored to your preferences and needs, ensuring effective communication with healthcare providers, empowering informed decision-making, and promoting a smoother labor and delivery experience.

Do I really need four prenatal appointments?
It’s a fair question. Many doulas offer fewer prenatal appointments; four might seem excessive, but the truth is, real preparation takes time.
During these sessions, I will carve a path with you through NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) exercises to uncover what you truly want, shift unhelpful fears or assumptions, strengthen the way you communicate, and rehearse advocacy skills so they feel natural in the moment. Your partner also learns how to support you with clarity and confidence.
By the time you’re in labor, you’ve already built the mental, emotional, and communication foundations that not only support your birth, but also strengthen your relationships and carry with you into parenthood.
I have a partner… do I really need a doula?
A doula doesn’t replace your partner.
A doula supports both of you.
Your partner knows your heart, your rhythms, and what calms you. I know birth, what to expect, how to adapt, and how to create steady support when emotions and intensity rise.
Together, we become a team where your partner feels confident, involved, and prepared rather than unsure or overwhelmed. They get to stay fully present with you while I take care of guiding the room, offering hands-on comfort measures, and communicating clearly so you both feel calm and supported from start to finish.
And together, that support creates a birth space where you feel protected, informed, and genuinely not alone.
I’m not sure if this is worth the investment.
Totally understandable.
Birth is huge, and so is the price tag of becoming a parent. Spending money on yourself can feel uncomfortable when everything about having a baby already feels expensive and unpredictable.
But having a doula isn’t just about the day you give birth. It’s about feeling prepared, supported, and genuinely heard during your whole pregnancy. It’s about giving your partner tools so they don’t feel overwhelmed, but confident in how to support you in the best possible way. And it’s about stepping into birth, and early parenthood, with a level of clarity, grounding, and calm you simply can’t Google your way into, no matter how many hours you spend researching online.
